I really did not pay close attention to the size which is my fault.However it just the right size for my 1 year old grandson to climb on, which is not what I want. My daughter likes it because it holds alot of books, she will just have to watch him closely when he is playing.

Great for the toddler and pre-school years. Holds small to medium size books well. Do not use for big books. Child can take books easily and put them back. Good for encouraging reading skills and clean-up skills!

The book display is the perfect addition to my toddler's safari-themed room. He can easily get the books from the shelves, and he can see all of the book covers to know which book he wants to "read." The side designs are hand-carved and are beautiful!

This book storage unit is appropriate for a small child with a limited number of books. It was horrible to try to screw the screws into the dowels - in fact NONE of the screws are flush and three are protruding a substantial length. Both my palms were badly bruised. I will have the child's father (Army Corp of Eng.) try to finish the screws and if he can't we will have to discard the item to prevent possible srious injury to the small child.

My son gets the concept of cleaning up his books. He tends to put most of the books on the bottom since the books in the middle fall forward.
