Sylvester Yen had decades of experience designing children's bicycles when he founded Morgan Cycles. His first product, the elegantly streamlined Morgan tricycle, was inspired by the original 1936 Harold Van Doren design that captured the hearts of generations of Americans. Van Doren was a pioneering designer in the emerging industrial age, and "simple solidity" was the hallmark of his work. His range included gas pumps for the Wayne Pump Company, refrigerators for Philco, stoves for Westinghouse, and the iconic Maytag washing machine.
